After four months of various pre-wedding celebrations, Anant Ambani, the younger son of Mukesh and Neeta Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant, tied the knot on July 12. The grand wedding took place at Mumbai’s World Convention Centre and captured global attention due to its opulence and the high-profile guests in attendance.
The couple’s engagement last year was also a significant event, but the wedding surpassed it in grandeur. One notable aspect of the pre-wedding celebrations was Anant Ambani’s love for luxury watches. Priscilla Chan, wife of Mark Zuckerberg, was particularly struck by a watch worth Rs 15 crore. Anant’s entire watch collection, valued at over Rs 250 crore, includes many limited edition pieces, underscoring his passion for horology.
Among the highlights was the gift Anant gave to his groomsmen: a limited-edition Audemars Piguet watch. This exquisite timepiece features an 18K pink gold 41 mm casing that is 9.5 mm thick, a screw-locked crown, and a sapphire crystal back. The pink gold-toned dial with a Grande Tapisserie pattern is enhanced by blue counters, pink gold hour markers, and luminescent Royal Oak hands. The watch houses the magnificent Manufacture Calibre 5134 self-winding movement and boasts an array of complications including a perpetual calendar displaying the week, day, date, astronomical moon, month, leap year, and hours and minutes. Additionally, it offers a 40-hour power reserve and is accompanied by an 18K pink gold bracelet with an AP folding buckle, an additional blue alligator strap, and water resistance up to 20 meters.
The groomsmen who received these luxurious watches included renowned personalities like Ranveer Singh, Shikhar Pahariya, Veer Pahariya, Meezaan Jafri, among others, according to various sources.
Following the wedding, the Ambani and Merchant families hosted a Shubh Ashirwad Ceremony. This event was attended by several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Shankaracharya of Dwarka Peeth Swami Sadanand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Avimukteshwaranand, former President of India Ram Nath Kovind, and other distinguished guests. The wedding festivities will culminate with a grand reception, or Mangal Utsav, scheduled for July 14 in Mumbai, marking the end of an extraordinary series of celebrations.
