WhatsApp regularly introduces new features for its users, and today, it has launched two significant updates. One is designed for linked devices, while the other is tailored for business accounts. The first update allows users to add and edit contacts directly from linked devices, a capability that was previously restricted to the primary device. The second feature, called “Save Only on WhatsApp,” enables users to save new contacts directly on WhatsApp without storing them on their phone.
These new features—Add Contacts Across Devices and Save Only to WhatsApp—were initially spotted in leaks and beta versions but have now officially rolled out, according to WhatsApp’s blog.
Add Contacts Across Devices
With this feature, users can now add new contacts or edit existing ones through any linked device using the Link Device feature. Previously, contact management was limited to the primary device, but this update extends the functionality to all linked devices.
Save Only to WhatsApp
The “Save Only to WhatsApp” feature is aimed at users who want to separate their personal and professional contacts. It allows users, particularly business account holders, to store contacts only in WhatsApp rather than on the phone itself. This feature is expected to be especially useful for business users who manage client contacts.
