Internet Trouble? Quick Fixes to Get Your Payment Done

UPI Payments Without Internet: A Step-by-Step Guide

Did you know that you can make UPI payments without an internet connection? Yes, it’s possible! In situations where your internet is down or your mobile data is exhausted, you can still complete transactions using a simple process. All you need is a specific code and a few easy steps.

In today’s world, UPI has become the go-to method for payments, whether it’s shopping, mobile recharges, or paying electricity bills. While online payments have made life more convenient, they often become problematic when there’s no internet connectivity. To solve this, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced an offline UPI payment option. Now, even if your phone has no internet connection, you can still complete transactions smoothly.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make UPI payments without the internet:

How to Make Offline UPI Payments

  1. Dial the USSD code ‘99#’ on your mobile phone.
  2. A screen displaying “Welcome to 99#” will appear, with an option to press “OK.” Click on it.
  3. A list of options will show up. Choose the option labeled ‘Send Money’.
  4. Next, select the ‘Mobile Number’ option.
  5. Enter the mobile number of the person you wish to send money to.
  6. The recipient’s name will be displayed on the screen.
  7. Enter the amount you want to send.
  8. Finally, input your UPI PIN to confirm the transaction.

Your payment will be processed instantly, even without an internet connection.

Important Information

For this offline payment feature to work, your mobile number and Aadhaar number must be linked to your bank account. Without these being linked, you won’t be able to use this service for transactions when you’re offline.

This easy method ensures that you’re never stuck in a situation where you can’t make payments, even if you’re out of internet coverage.
