The cost of YouTube Premium has gone up, meaning users will now have to pay more for the premium subscription. Read on to find out the new pricing details.

A few months ago, YouTube raised the price of its Premium subscription plan in several countries, including Austria and Poland. Now, the video streaming giant has also increased the price of its premium service in India. With this update, users will have to pay more to access premium features. YouTube first introduced YouTube Premium in 2019.

How Much Has YouTube Premium’s Price Increased?

According to the company, the price of YouTube Premium’s student plan has risen by 12.65%. The plan, which was previously priced at Rs 79, will now cost Rs 89. As for the basic plan, the price has increased from Rs 129 to Rs 149, a hike of Rs 20.

Other Plans

When YouTube Premium was first launched, the family plan was priced at Rs 189. After the recent price hike, this plan will now cost Rs 299. Additionally, the prices of the Rs 139, Rs 399, and Rs 1290 packs have also increased to Rs 159, Rs 459, and Rs 1490, respectively.

YouTube has stated that this decision was made to ensure the continued delivery of top-quality service. The company noted that such decisions are not taken lightly, and the price update will help in further enhancing Premium features while supporting the creators and artists on the platform.

For your information, the new prices for YouTube Premium subscriptions are now live on the official website. If a user does not activate their membership before their next billing date in September, their membership will expire before the new prices take effect from their billing date in October.
