Now, all the teams that will play are known. The tournament is a big event with a prize of 3 million dollars, and it’s the final part of the season for the ESL Pro Tour, which is a series of Dota 2 competitions.
The qualifiers for the Dota 2 World Cup started in China on May 16, where teams competed to earn their spots. Eight teams got special invites to play in the Dota 2 part of the Esports World Cup 2025, and eight other teams earned their spots by winning regional contests in different parts of the world.
In the Dota 2 competition at the World Cup, 16 of the best teams in the world will play. Gaimin Gladiators are automatically in because they won the last big tournament in Riyadh. Eight more teams got in because they earned the most points during the season.

Throughout the season, teams played many tournaments, including online events called DreamLeague and big in-person events called ESL One. The biggest tournament of all will happen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8 to July 19.
