China’s immigration leaders say they want to make it easier for people from other countries to visit, work, study, and live there. They are also expanding the rules so more people can visit China more easily.
According to China’s immigration authority, people from 55 countries like the UK, US, Japan, France, Australia, and the UAE can already travel to China and stay without a visa for up to 3 or 6 days at certain ports in different cities. Starting from June 12, 2025, travelers from Indonesia will be able to enter China at any of 60 ports in 24 regions and stay for up to 10 days without a visa if they are just passing through to another country.
A person named Ge said that this shows China wants to open up more and make more friends around the world. Ge Hongliang, an expert on regional relationships, mentioned that as China works more closely with Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia, its visa rules are gradually becoming part of a bigger plan to help countries work better together. China has now added Indonesia to its list of countries whose people can stay in China for up to 10 days without needing a visa.
Before, only 54 countries were allowed, but now Indonesia is included, making a total of 55 countries. However, India is not on this list yet. However, India and China still have some disagreements, mainly about border issues in the Himalayas.
Because of this, India is not included in China’s list of countries that can visit without a visa. Many Indian travelers are waiting for the day when they can visit China more easily like people from other countries.
