Shami had hurt himself a lot before and couldn’t play in a special series in Australia. But he did start playing again in some other games.

Now, India is going to play important matches in England to start a new cricket tournament called the World Test Championship. Ajit Agarkar, a big cricket helper, told everyone the names of the players who will go to England to play five big cricket matches in the summer.

One important player, Mohammed Shami, was not chosen for this team. He’s a fast bowler who has played with Jasprit Bumrah for a long time. When Agarkar was asked why Shami wasn’t in the team, he said that Shami isn’t feeling completely well yet.

He had a special scan (called an MRI) that showed he has some new injuries. Because of this, the team didn’t think he could bowl enough in the matches. But Shami might still join the team later after resting and practicing at a special cricket center in Bengaluru.
