Exploring Battlefield 6: Unleashing New Frontiers Before 2026

EA has introduced Battlefield Labs, a new initiative in the aforementioned video.

The publishing giant would like some help with the pre- and post-launch playtest that will “get the community back on [its] side”; the sign-ups for the trailer that dropped two days ago set off quite an amazing queue of over 30,000 people waiting for over an hour, so there are plenty of eager fans willing to give the game a try before its release.

Some fans are already calling upon EA keeping the game within theme, with some calling about “clown skins.”

This is, supposedly, some kind of experiment to avert another Battlefield 2042-style launch for the franchise and to win back some goodwill toward it. The community are now brought directly in toward “building Battlefield together,” which is certainly in line with those claims (not to mention that EA had admitted 2042 “did not meet expectations”).

However, fans won’t get keys to the whole FPS kingdom early. Instead, they will play-test specific areas of Battlefield 6, including combat, destruction, maps, modes, weapons, vehicles, and gadgets, all so that Battlefield Studios can come up with new ideas but, at the same time, make sure that players will get what they want from the series.

Battlefield Studios itself is another new piece of the puzzle regarding Battlefield 6. It is a coalition of four iconic EA studios that will be working together on the new title: DICE, Motive, Criterion, and Ripple Effect-all fine-tuning their own expertise. DICE heads multiplayer, while Criterion focuses on a single-player campaign.
