These days, most people prefer using UPI for payments. If you’re one of them, this update might interest you. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently increased the transaction limits for UPI Lite and UPI 123Pay.
This means users can now store more money in their UPI wallets and make higher-value payments. Let’s look at the new limits.
Following RBI’s announcement, the UPI Lite wallet limit has been raised to ₹5,000, up from ₹2,000. For UPI 123Pay, users can now make payments up to ₹10,000, double the previous limit of ₹5,000.
In addition, you can now make transactions up to ₹1,000 without needing a UPI PIN. Previously, the limit for PIN-less transactions was ₹500. This change allows users to transfer up to ₹1,000 in a single transaction without a PIN.
UPI Lite – To use UPI Lite, users need to add funds to their UPI Lite wallet. The maximum amount that could be added was ₹2,000, but this has now been increased to ₹5,000.
With UPI Lite, you can make transactions without needing a UPI PIN. This service is built on a highly secure, three-level bank-grade technology and is designed to work even when there is no internet or if the bank server is down.
UPI 123Pay – UPI 123Pay is a service by NPCI tailored for feature phone users. It allows UPI transactions without an internet connection. UPI 123Pay offers four different methods for making payments, ensuring feature phone users can easily and securely use UPI even without a smartphone or internet access.
