There is a wall painting inside a college in Kolkata that says, “Monojit dada is in our hearts (Team MM).” This made news because a girl who goes to the college was hurt very badly by someone named Monojit Mishra, who is now accused of doing something very wrong to her.

People say Monojit was involved in many bad things before, like hurting girls, stealing, and fighting. He has been arrested and put in jail before, but he is out now. He says he didn’t do the crime he is accused of now and that it was something both he and the girl agreed to. Monojit Mishra is a man who used to study at the college.

Even after he finished school there, many students and teachers knew him and were afraid of him because he was very powerful and could make trouble. He was also the leader of a student group connected to a big political party in West Bengal called Trinamool.

On June 25, the girl says Monojit and two other men called her to a room inside the college after classes ended. She was surprised because the college gates close after 5 pm, so she shouldn’t have been there. She says they forced her into the room, hurt her, and took videos of what they did. The police looked at videos from the college and saw what happened.

Four people, including the security guard, have been taken into custody by the police to help investigate what occurred.
