Porn is being sold on Twitter! Protect your kids from pornography with these 5 ways

The Delhi Commission for Women chief has written to Twitter and Delhi Police that child porn clips are being sold for Rs 20. He claimed to be seen selling it on Twitter. Here are 5 ways to protect your child from pornography.

Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal has issued notice to Delhi Police and Twitter over allegations of child pornography and its open trade on microblogging website. Maliwal has written to both of them claiming that the videos are being sold on Twitter for Rs 20 and the site has not been able to remove them.

Here are 5 ways to protect your child from pornography

1.Set your search engine on Google.

Check the settings on whatever browser your kids use (Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and make sure they use Google as their default search engine.

2.Set Limit
On your kid’s gadgets, you can put limits on either (and lock them with a passcode so they can’t be changed back). Alternatively, you can use Apple’s Family Sharing function to remotely control your child’s phone, as with other parental control tools.

3.Keep the computer in a public room
Always keep your desktop, computer in the combined room. Avoid placing it in a bedroom where doors can be locked.

4.Enable Safe Search
Open your Google app on a mobile device. Select “Filter explicit results” from the SafeSearch filter by selecting the gear icon, scrolling down to “Search Settings,” and then selecting that option.

On a desktop or laptop, go to www.google.com, click Settings in the bottom-right corner, select Search Settings, and then select Turn on Safe Search and Lock Safe Search.

5.Frequently check all equipment
Check every gadget your child uses. Make sure that Safe Search is not disabled. So check the Google app or setting level frequently.

Let us tell you that both Twitter and Delhi Police have been given time till 26 September for their response. It is a time frame set by the statutory body, which looks into and assesses issues related to the safety of women and children.

Maliwal told the press, “On Twitter, we found footage of young girls being raped. Some platforms offered to sell these films for between Rs 20 and Rs 30. It’s terrible.” Additionally, Twitter has been contacted by DCW to clarify that it has neither removed nor reported the post.
