Airtel AI Spam Detection Solution: Spam calls and messages have become a major issue for millions of people in India. In response to the rising number of spam incidents, TRAI has repeatedly urged telecom companies to take action. Bharti Airtel has now stepped up, becoming the first to introduce a new AI-driven solution to address this problem. Airtel has launched India’s first network-based spam detection system, designed to identify spam calls and messages in real-time. Here’s everything you need to know about this new service.
How Does Airtel’s AI Spam Detection Work?
On September 25th, Airtel introduced its AI-powered Spam Detection service for its customers. This service provides real-time alerts about spam calls and messages. The system operates with a dual-layer protection model, consisting of a network layer and an IT system layer.
Every call and message passes through this AI-based dual-layer system, with the capability of processing up to 1.5 billion calls daily in just 2 milliseconds. In addition to spam detection, the system also alerts users about malicious links received via SMS, offering enhanced protection beyond regular spam filters.
Truecaller May Become Redundant
With the rollout of Airtel’s new service, the reliance on third-party apps like Truecaller may diminish. The telecom company itself will notify users about potential fraud calls and messages, allowing them to block unwanted communication directly. One of the key highlights is that this AI service is completely free of charge, so users don’t need to pay anything extra for this enhanced security.
Airtel’s AI Spam Detection solution is set to provide significant relief from the increasing menace of spam calls and messages by offering real-time alerts and protection.
