The day before, Trump also announced that the U.S. will send really good weapons, including Patriot air defense systems, to help Ukraine fight. Trump said that these punishments could include special rules called “secondary sanctions,” which could make it harder for Russia to sell things to other countries. But he didn’t give many details about how exactly they would do this.
