Why YouTube’s Changes Could Make Video Watching More Fun

YouTube has introduced a range of new features aimed at enhancing the user experience across both mobile and TV apps. These updates include improvements like the mini player, playlist updates, and a sleep timer, all designed to make video streaming more convenient. Let’s take a closer look at these new features:

Mini Player

YouTube has upgraded its mini player, giving users the ability to position the mini player in any corner of the screen, a change from its earlier restriction to just one corner. This allows for more flexibility while watching videos.

Playlists

Users can now create collaborative playlists with friends and family by sharing an invite link via a QR code. Additionally, users can add custom thumbnails to their playlists, either manually or with the help of AI technology.

Sleep Timer

A sleep timer feature has been added, allowing users to set a timer (up to 10 minutes) for the video to automatically pause. Previously available to premium users only, this feature is now accessible to all users by navigating to the video settings.

Badges

YouTube has introduced badges for creators to reward their most engaged fans. These badges can be given to those who become paid members, correctly complete quizzes, or rank as top listeners. The badges will be visible in the YouTube tab and will roll out to everyone soon.

YouTube TV

The YouTube TV app has undergone a major revamp with changes to its interface and added features. A new channel page now allows users to view the creator’s page and read comments without minimizing the video.

These updates aim to make YouTube more interactive and user-friendly for its vast audience.
