According to a media source, Barcelona’s former star midfielder Iniesta is waiting to join Inter Miami. In the meantime, the two sides have agreed in principle on the deal. However, the Iniesta-Miami issue has not progressed far yet. Iniesta left Japan’s Vissel Kobe a few weeks ago. He wants to continue playing for a few more years. Several sources told that it was Iniesta who made the offer to Miami. However, the MLS team is yet to decide whether to accept or reject the proposal.
The announcement came earlier, Barcelona and Spain’s great footballer Andres Iniesta will no longer play in the Japanese league. Midway through the season, he left Japanese club, Vissel Kobe. Iniesta played his last match for the club on 1 July 2023. Fans bid farewell to the beloved star. The injury sidelined him for most of the season. Iniesta said in an emotional voice, ‘I came here in 2018 to make this club a big club. I think I have done that. I gave my best inside and outside the field. I hope you feel as much pride in the club as I do.
Iniesta has won a total of 30 trophies including 9 La Liga, 4 Champions League in Barcelona’s illustrious career of one and a half years. Won two consecutive Euro titles for the country. In between, he brought the country to the World Cup by scoring the only goal in the finals against the Netherlands. Iniesta is not saying goodbye to football even though there is nothing more to win in his career. Iniesta said, ‘I have said many times, it would be nice to return to Barcelona. But I also know that it is impossible. But I want to play football. I think I still can play. As this chapter (Vissel) is coming to an end, let’s see what happens next.’
