The police are still investigating and trying to figure out all the details. They are making sure they have enough proof to prove who did what. They are also talking to the accused and trying to understand what each person did and when.
Since they haven’t finished questioning everyone yet, they might ask to keep the accused in custody (which means they stay in jail for a little longer) after their current custody period ends. The police have caught five people in connection with the crime: Sonam and four men named Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi.
The police also said that Raja’s wife Sonam and Raj were close, and that Raj might have been the one who came up with the plan. The three young men — Vishal, Akash, and Anand — were believed to be hired to do the killing, but they acted out of friendship.
Raj gave them about 50,000 rupees to help with their expenses, and they did what they did because they knew each other. A few days after a businessman named Raja Raghuvanshi from Indore was killed, the police in Meghalaya (a state in India) plan to take all five people who are accused of hurting him — including his wife, Sonam — to the place where he was hurt and killed.
The police want to show them the exact spot so they can understand how everything happened. This will happen at a place called Wei Sawdong Falls, which is about 50 kilometers away from Shillong, the city nearby.
