The company has suffered a major setback just before the launch event of Apple. Actually, Brazil has ordered a ban on the iPhone coming with no charger. Along with this, the government has also imposed a fine of about Rs 18 crore on Apple for not giving the charger.
According to a Reuters report, Brazil’s Justice Ministry has ordered Apple to stop selling iPhone 12 and above models. Let us tell you that Apple stopped giving charger with the iPhone 12 in 2020.
The government has rejected Apple’s argument for reducing carbon emissions in the environment, saying that there is no evidence that selling smartphones without a charger protects the environment. The ministry also says that not giving a charger with the phone comes under deliberate discriminatory behavior against consumers.
Apple has responded by saying that we will continue to work with the Brazilian consumer protection agency Senacon and will also appeal for this decision.
This decision comes just before Apple’s launch event when Apple is about to launch its new iPhone 14 series. Now this decision can become a big problem for the company because the new iPhones were also going to be sold without charger.
