BGMI players are in for a spooky experience! Krafton India has confirmed the arrival of the BGMI 4.6 update on September 16 2026 bringing a twist to Erangel.
The biggest attraction is the Midnight Hunters mode, which introduces vampire-themed locations, dangerous creatures, boss fights, special abilities and new tactical items.

The upcoming update brings major changes designed to make matches more unpredictable and action-packed.

Erangel Gets a Dark New Look
The familiar Erangel map is getting a makeover.
Several popular locations will feature the Vampire Takeover theme, including:
• Rozhok
• Mylta
• Quarry
• Gatka
Meanwhile Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base will receive special indoor combat areas connected to the Nightkeepers Hunter Guild.
These locations will contain puzzles, interactive objects, lore elements and special activities.
Hunter Guild Brings New Challenges
The Hunter Guild is more than a new location.
Players can explore areas filled with:
• Puzzles
• Lore elements
• Interactive objects
• Shooting ranges
• Clock towers
• Upgrade materials
The new clock towers can also become useful during fights. Players can shoot them to stun hostile creatures potentially creating an opportunity to escape or attack.
Scream Crates Add a Risky Twist
The new Scream Crates bring a risk-versus-reward mechanic.
Players need to decrypt these crates to collect their rewards. However failing the decryption attempt can produce a sound that alerts nearby enemies.
This means players will have to think before opening one especially when fighting in crowded areas.
New Creatures Will Hunt Players
The 4.6 update isn’t about visuals. Players will also face supernatural enemies.
New threats include:
• Bloodwalkers: Ground-based creatures that chase players.
• Nightbats: Flying enemies of attacking with sonic waves.
• Vampire Elder: A boss that can strengthen other creatures if left undefeated.
These enemies could make rotations and late-game fights more challenging.
Players Can Transform During Matches
One of the interesting additions is the new transformation system.
Surviving players can potentially switch sides during a match and gain:
